As I continue to invade the U-verse of blogs, I introduce: [what is left is right], a journey of discovery dedicated solely to all of the goodness that personally shapes and defines the myopic world I happily embrace.
Aaaaand, Before I continue to launch a barrage of 'norm de plume', allow me to give credit where credit is due.
'Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no fickleness, neither shadow of turning.' James 1:17
As I hit the pavement and get ready to spew out some more words, I thank enlightened thinkers such as Kahlil Gibran, that have explored the beauty of the following concept: joy and sorrow. I have read these words in many different ways, but I found his approach the most affable to my spirit.
When you are joyous, look deep into your heart and you shall find it is only
that which has given you sorrow that is giving you joy.
When you are
sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are
weeping for that which has been your delight.
Some of you say, "Joy is
greater than sorrow," and others say, "Nay, sorrow is the greater."
But I say unto you, they are inseparable.
In a nut shell: thanks to those bad/ugly days; the good days taste sweeter. I learned to celebrate the small victories early in life; thanks to sorrow and even joy.
Along the way, I collided with my joy and my soul, Tony. He has made complete the most important canvas of our lives sharing in faith, love and family. This journey begins with him and for that reason, I came to revisit the poetry of my preeminent companion of 20th Century Poetry, E.E. Cummings. Side bar: although Cummings paid exacting attention to typography, his name is written and printed with the usual capital letters in their usual places: "E. E. Cummings.''
I pay homage to Cummings for his timeless poetry and to my husband for his steadfast commitment to our love, life and family. [i carry your heart with me(i carry it in]
i carry your heart with me(i
carry it in
my heart)i am never without
it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear;and
whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my
darling)
i
fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my
sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are
my world,my true)
and it’s you are whatever a
moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always
sing is you
here is the deepest secret
nobody knows
(here is the root of the root
and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a
tree called life;which grows
higher than soul can hope or
mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's
keeping the stars apart
i carry your heart(i carry it
in my heart)
